Test Results

When there is no concern

For normal results where no action is needed we will not contact you as the information is available on the NHS App or via online access.

When there is a concern

You will only be contacted by the surgery if any follow-up is needed after a test result has been received. You will likely receive a text message or phone call.

Getting test results

For some tests, the information will not show online or on the NHS App until a GP first sees and checks the information. This may take a few days.

Administration teams cannot share test results

They are not qualified to interpret test results, and may require additional content from your GP. So they may need to arrange for you to have an appointment with a clinician to discuss results.

Timescales

Depending upon the NHS service you have received, it may take quite some time before the surgery receives a copy of your test results.

  • You may receive copies of your results before the surgery.
  • The surgery has no control over other NHS services.
